Scott is a cisgender white male born near Chicago, Illinois, right before the age of the internet. Growing up, Scott had the fortunate opportunity to live in five states before turning 18, contributing to his love for traveling, meeting and fostering relationships with people, and learning about new cultures and traditions. Scott has traveled to nearly all 50 states in the United States and at least 25 countries abroad. If you know Scott well, the secret is through his stomach, so give him food, and he’ll give you plenty of love.

Scott has been devoted to the field of Leadership and Education Sciences, and this is reflected by his academic degrees. Scott has a bachelor’s degree in Communications and English, a master’s and a doctoral degree in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego. Scott’s graduate thesis focused on Hierarchical Structures in Organizations, where he published a formal hierarchical model that involves the fabric of the Deaf culture and community . Scott’s doctoral degree concentrates on Innovations in Social Justice. His dissertation is on the Crab Theory and how it contributes to oppressive behaviors in the workplace. Scott also obtained an International Coaching Federation certificate, allowing him the skills to work with people of various backgrounds and providing them with the guidance to navigate life. Scott aims to complete his doctoral degree by 2025. Scott’s passion is in giving back to the Deaf community, as it was one of the earliest lessons that his parents taught him when he was a child. Scott believes that the fabric of the deaf community lies within education and that the leaders of the deaf community are championed with breaking down barriers with community members. Aside from his academic achievements, Scott has spent most of his career devoted to community-based work. Scott held supervisory duties for a Non-Profit in San Diego, where he held various hats for the agency. His responsibilities ranged but were not limited to supervisory and operations management, coaching, customer service, strategic planning, budgeting, funding proposal requests, and grant writing. Scott also provided personal and professional development training from his expertise as a supervisor and academic knowledge. Scott is no stranger to giving presentations, training, workshops, and individual and group work, to groups of various sizes. Scott now juggles the honorable duty of being a full-time dad and as an independent contractor providing remote consultations to individuals and organizations.

Scott is an automotive aficionado, a vegetarian, dedicated to mother earth, and is a family-oriented man. Scott has a fiance who he loves and is proud of every day, a newborn, and two children. Scott also has an amazing Goldendoodle named Alfie, who is an all-around dog. Getting to know Scott is no problematic feat and goes beyond what is written on this page.
